SICK WITH FEVER, STAYING HOME FROM SCHOOL – by Rustin Larson

In the basement
a chorus of children
plays drums.

The day opens
and the sunlight
says, “How

the trees twist
through me!”
I carry myself

in a way.
I take two
aspirin; eat little.

I am glad for this day.
