To a Pawned Guitar – by Paul Fisher

Your rain songs fall
quiet as light
fingering fretted streams.

Your snow songs float
white as ash
silencing raucous skies.

Your space songs empty
immensity
of all unneeded things.

I think you think
I have washed my hands
of your cold, metal strings.
